In Conversation With Mark Leckey
This event is in the past.
We are incredibly excited to welcome Mark Leckey for an exclusive conversation with LSE Philosophy’s very own Prof. Bryan Roberts!
Mark Leckey is known for blendig pop culture, subcultures, and personal memory into films, installations, and performances that feel both archival and hallucinatory. His work often explores how technology, consumer objects, and mass media shape identity and desire, most famously in his iconic video “Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore” The film - a hypnotic collage of British dance culture from the 1970s to the 1990s - shows how Leckey treats everyday objects as if they possess their own psychic charge, creating works that feel like encounters with the collective unconscious of modern Britain.
Mark’s work has been exhibited across major institutions such as MoMA, Tate, Guggenheim and Centre Pompidou.
We look forward to seeing everyone there!
